Medidata Academy announces new Rave EDC eLearnings and Site User Certification Tracks!
Medidata Academy is pleased to announce the release of four new Rave EDC courses, including two new Certification tracks for Site Users.
New eLearning Courses
In an effort to consolidate information from existing Rave EDC micro-modules into comprehensive, role-based training, we have created the following new courses:
- Medidata Rave EDC: Clinical Research Coordinators Course (45 min)
- Medidata Rave EDC: Principal Investigators Course (35 min)
- Medidata Rave EDC: Clinical Research Associates Course (35 min)
- Medidata Rave EDC: Data Managers Course (45 min)
NOTE: These new courses incorporate the latest features in Rave EDC as of the 2019.2.1 release and should not be treated as an equivalent for the existing Rave micro modules. We have also incorporated some enhanced Knowledge Checks to ensure understanding.
1. Rave EDC: Clinical Research Coordinators Course
This course is intended for Clinical Research Coordinators. It provides a thorough understanding of how to use Medidata Rave EDC and carry out common tasks such as how to navigate, enter, and edit Subject data and manage tasks in Rave EDC.
Note: This course contains exercises and a post-assessment. Learners can also opt-in to obtain the Rave EDC Site User Certification for Clinical Research Coordinators upon successful completion of the course. More information on the Certification program can be found below.
2. Rave EDC: Principal Investigators Course
This course is intended for both Investigators and Principal Investigators (PIs). It provides a thorough understanding of how to use Medidata Rave EDC and carry out common tasks such as how to navigate in Rave EDC, enter, and edit subject data, and apply signatures at form and subject level.
Note: This course contains exercises and a post-assessment. Learners can also opt-in to obtain the Rave EDC Site User Certification for Principal Investigators upon successful completion of the course. More information on the Certification program can be found below.
3. Rave EDC: Clinical Research Associates Course
This course is intended for Clinical Research Associates (or Monitors). It provides a thorough understanding of how to use Medidata Rave EDC and carry out common tasks such as how to navigate, verify subject Data, and manage queries in Rave EDC.
This course also contains a post-assessment. However, it is not a Certification course.
4. Rave EDC: Data Managers Course
This course is intended for Data Managers. It provides a thorough understanding of how to use Medidata Rave EDC and carry out common tasks such as how to Freeze, lock and review Subject Data, and manage queries and other tasks in Rave EDC.
This course also contains a post-assessment. However, it is not a Certification course.
All these courses are now available on iMedidata and Learning Lab in English.
NOTE: With the release of these new courses, we will not be updating the Rave Micro Modules for future Rave Releases. Those courses will be reclassified into quick show-me videos over the course of the next few months.
Certification
All learners who complete the Rave EDC: Clinical Research Coordinators Course or Rave EDC: Principal Investigators Course will be eligible to enroll in the Medidata Professional Certification Program. Upon completion of the course and certification program enrollment at the end of the course, the learner will hold the credential of Medidata Rave EDC Certified Clinical Research Coordinator or Medidata Rave EDC Certified Principal Investigator, respectively.
See the Certification FAQ below for details.
Why are we rolling out Certification versions of Rave EDC training for CRCs and PIs?
Medidata users want formal recognition of their skills and experience using Medidata products. The CRC and PI certifications recognize Clinical Research Coordinators and Principal Investigators who have successfully completed training to use the Rave EDC system for commonly performed tasks.
Additionally, previous certifications available before today were developed and applicable only on Classic Rave’s EDC module.
If my group took the existing Rave EDC Micro Modules, should we still take these courses?
Yes. These courses contain the most current, up-to-date information on Rave EDC, including UI enhancements and new features as of Rave 2019.2.1 release. The Rave Micro Modules are not as comprehensive and up-to-date. We will revisit potential completion equivalency later in 2020, but as of now we strongly encourage all clients to take these courses based on their roles.
How does the learner enroll in the certification?
Certification Enrollment forms have been added at the end of the course.
If the learner chooses to enroll in the Medidata Professional Certification Program, this module prompts them to specify whether they would like to receive a set of personalized credentials, signaling that they are a Medidata Certified Professional.
If the learner chooses not to enroll in the program, they can skip this section.
What languages are the Certification courses available in?
The Certification courses are available in English. They will be available later this year in Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
When will the new courses be available in iMedidata?
The new courses are available in iMedidata as of 31 March 2020.
Are CRC/PI Certification courses available for specific Rave URLs?
The CRC/PI Certifications are available only in iMedidata.
The learner took one of these courses without enrolling in the certification. Can he or she opt-in to the certification if he or she chose not to during the initial course completion?
If a CRC or PI already completed either of the certification-based eLearnings without enrolling at the time of completion, they may contact certification@mdsol.com to enroll.
Are there any changes to the training content or post-assessments in the new courses versus the Classic Rave EDC Essentials for Clinical Research Coordinators and Classic Rave EDC Essentials for Principal Investigators course?
Yes, the course content and post-assessment contents have changed to reflect functionality in Rave EDC (formerly RaveX). The existing courses have been renamed to more clearly reflect that they are applicable to Classic Rave only.
What if the learner completed Medidata Classic Rave Certified Clinical Research Coordinator certification or Medidata Classic Rave Certified Principal Investigator certification?
Those that completed Medidata Classic Rave Clinical Research Coordinator Certification or Medidata Classic Rave Principal Investigator Certification are certified on Classic Rave’s EDC module only. This Certification is a separate and new Certification, focused on tasks performed using Rave EDC. Candidates wishing to upgrade from the Medidata Classic Rave Clinical Research Coordinator Certification and Medidata Classic Rave Principal Investigator Certification will need t
