What was your favorite part about the internship experience?
My favorite part about the internship experience was the time spent interacting with other interns. Since it was a fully virtual internship, we were not able to see each other in person so it was a bit difficult to get to know people. I had weekly meetings with the other marketing interns and our mentors, Steph and Sammi, which were really great for getting to know each other and for learning more about Medidata together. The Intern Innovation Lab was also a fun project that allowed me to talk and work with interns who were in different teams.
How would you describe the transition from working as an intern to working full time?
The transition from working as an intern to full time was pretty smooth for me, mainly because I am staying in the same team. As an intern, I was able to learn exactly what the Demand Gen team does. As I start full time, I'll be working on similar things as I did as an intern, but I will also be able to take on bigger projects now which is exciting!
Did you have any mentors who helped you along the way?
Steph, Sammi, and Janyra were my mentors during the summer program, and they were really helpful in getting to know the company and its culture. I was able to meet people from different marketing teams and get insight on their career journeys and how they got to Medidata.
What do you enjoy most about your new role?
The thing I enjoy the most about my new role is that I have opportunities to be creative. I like to be creative, but I also like to work with numbers, and this position gives me a bit of both.
What advice do you have for recent grads looking to convert an internship into a full-time position?
Make your interest in your work clear and put out the best work that you can. Show that you enjoy what you're doing and want to learn more!
