Your Mission:  As a Senior Systems Engineer - Data Engineer You will develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance clinical informatics data products, reports, extracts, analytics, and visualizations to solve ambiguous problems within the life science domain.
● Review code developed by junior developers and provide feedback to ensure adherence to best practices
(e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
● Ability to performance tune queries and data products for performance optimization
● Provide documentation and adapt content based on product/program updates and feedback
● Digest feature requirements, question assumptions, assess feasibility, create/enhance data catalog
● Using life sciences/healthcare domain expertise provide strategy and customer based insight towards new services, deliverables, data sets/products to support and conduct clinical trials.

Requirements:

● We're looking for senior developer, with life science and or healthcare domain knowledge with a balance of hands-on experience and curiosity about systems,
architecture, network and end-to-end application or API design - development - deployment.
● You are expected to be productive in the following environment and standards:
● Objective oriented and functional programming
● SQL and/or NoSQL query
● Python, Powershell
● GitHub and Git version control
environments
● Business Intelligence tools
● Data streaming technology (Apache Kafka, Snowflake, Iceberg) or the ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies as the product landscape evolves
● Break down complex domain specific information and articulate your ideas clearly in written form, such as Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Requirements Specification (FRS), architectural diagrams, data flow diagram, data mapping documents, ect.Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and drive technical vision.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to peers, executives, customers and junior staff.

Your Education & Experience:

B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering or other Engineering discipline required; Masters Degree preferred

Minimum 7 years working experience in the IT industry

Minimum 5 Years life science and/or healthcare domain experience

Experienced working on cross-functional  teams/projects Strong hands-on personality, results-oriented, pragmatic, high quality standards, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
