About the Team:

The Proposal Specialist is a partner to the sales team; using your clinical trials knowledge and sales/marketing background to develop high-quality proposals that support a successful sales process. You'll create compelling documents that help win opportunities by coordinating with the Sales team to understand the opportunity requirements and strategy through to final document submission. You'll lead the proposal content process and will support strategy to improve content and templates. This is a Sales support role, part of the RFX & Proposals team, and reports to the Sr. Director, Proposals & RFX.

Responsibilities

This proposal specialist role will focus on supporting opportunities in patient experience and companion apps, using Medidata's full stack clinical solutions. This role will work closely with our sales and subject matter experts to create tailored, compelling proposals around patient experience and digital health opportunities for customers globally.

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop tailored proposals that clearly articulate the value of our offerings and align with customer concerns, initiatives and needs, focusing on opportunities related to patient experience and companion apps.
  • Support the tailoring of proposals to customer priorities of senior leaders such as Therapeutic Area heads and leaders in Commercial, R&D, and Portfolio management.
  • Support proposals that touch on key industry trends and customers' core challenges, including the latest trends in companion apps, regulatory guidance, patient centricity, and drug loss of exclusivity
  • Coordinate with external partners on proposal messaging and content as applicable
  • Share market insights, competitor analysis, and customer feedback as applicable to help refine messaging
  • Manage the end-to-end proposal development process - including analyzing requests, understanding study and opportunity requirements, coordinating with Sales and Pricing - to create written and PPT proposals.
  • Respond to a queue of proposal requests from Sales and follow deadlines.
  • Implement our process to ensure accuracy and consistency of proposal deliverables.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to create proposal content.
  • Capture new content and updates to maintain the proposal library.
  • Manage tools for proposals/sales support.
  • Monitor product updates and assets to relevancy and accuracy of proposal library.
  • Administer accurate proposal and opportunity data in the CRM system to allow oversight and our performance measurement.
  • Support reporting activities to Sales leadership.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of clinical trials and related technologies required. Experience with digital health, patient facing health care, companion apps, and/or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) space a plus
  • Requires 5 years of experience in sales, life sciences industry or medical/clinical operations
  • Highly organized and able to coordinate the development of multiple proposals in parallel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confident in communicating with multiple internal stakeholders and partners as applicable
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications or life science
  • Location - US based, New York City area strongly preferred

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $79,500 to $106,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
