August 16, 2022— Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company, has been named the winner of a 2022 Halo Award for its employee volunteer program benefiting life science non-profits. Medidata’s program, known as the Social Innovation Lab, earned Silver in the Best Employee Engagement Initiative category by Engage for Good, a professional development organization focused on CSR and social impact.
“The HALO Awards recognize the outstanding contribution of Medidata’s Social Innovation Lab, an internal think tank that fosters collaboration with our non-profit partners to address key issues in clinical trials,” said Naveen Bhateja, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at Medidata. “We are proud and humbled to receive this award, the highest honor for corporate social impact initiatives that showcases outstanding employee engagement efforts.”
In the past year, employees donated a total of 2,604 working hours to four projects, including:
- Developing a platform and process for UK rare disease patient groups and pharmaceutical/ research groups to partner at the Cambridge Rare Disease Network Companies Forum, for long-term health care solutions
- Creating a diversity indicator tool with National Minority Quality Forum’s historical claims data that provides health care providers with health indicators overlayed with diversity statistics across the U.S., to help ensure diversity in clinical trials
- Designing a pilot campaign for a rare disease patient registry focused on chronic pancreatitis for The Mission: Cure team
- Implementing a predictive survey tool for Lazarex Cancer Foundation to help cancer patients assess opportunities and challenges for success in a clinical trial and to access the resources that are available to them
